SEGA《音素小子 世代》（Sonic Generations）復刻強化版《索尼克×夏特 世代重啟》發售在即，釋出電影版夏特聲優基努李維配音 DLC，並為宣傳大使 hololive 戌神沁音換黑色刺蝟裝，但玩家更在意女角「艾咪·羅斯」人物設定被調整。
艾咪（エミー・ローズ）是性格開朗的粉色刺蝟少女，在動畫與遊戲系列中對索尼克一往情深，儘管索尼克把心力放在別的地方，而玩家發現《索尼克×夏特 世代重啟》似乎為讓艾咪更符合「獨立女性」，不但改動過場動畫，連原本的人格都消失。
根據網友在 X 釋出的英文版流出內容，經比對 2011 原作的愛咪在劇情中還執著與索尼克約會，被拯救後說很擔心再也無法跟索尼克調情了（影片 1:36）。
新版的愛咪一改少女心的暗戀態度，原版無奈的索尼克還額外加一段台詞，對話打亂劇情節奏，動嘴也不自然。

另外截圖顯示，《音素小子 世代》人物介紹艾咪被索尼克深深吸引、能追他到天涯海角，「她甚至自稱是索尼克的女朋友」，這段設定在新版完全被刪除，僅說艾咪的自我成長受索尼克啟發，並強調個人武器大錘 PikoPiko 令她無人能擋。
還有一幕過場，艾咪想要從背後靠近索尼克，卻被索尼克蓋臉阻止，這一動作似乎過於刻薄，到了《索尼克×夏特 世代重啟》變索尼克塞蛋糕給艾咪，艾咪對索尼克的愛變成對蛋糕的愛。
Apparently, in the Sonic Generations remaster, Sega thought Sonic holding Amy Rose's face was microaggressive and an example of toxic masculinity, so they changed the scene.

其他細節像原版艾咪全盤接受經典索尼克與現代索尼克的好，並將紅刺蝟奈克推倒撞樹，動作可能被認定過於誇張粗魯，在新版被改成簡單的蓋臉。
而蝙蝠娘珠寶大盜露姬（ルージュ・ザ, Rouge the Bat）原版是露出肩膀至半個背部，新版遮住這塊使得翅膀詭異的落在身外。

《索尼克×夏特 世代重啟》預計 10 月 25 日在 PC（Steam、EpicGames）、PS4、PS5、Xbox One、Xbox Series X/S 和 Switch 發售，若前述英語版改動為真，在意的玩家也別氣餒，官方確認 Steam 原版模組可在新作運行（不受影響）。
Therefore, Sonic Generations will still be available via bundles of other iconic Sonic titles on Steam and Xbox. Existing owners of the title will still be able to download and play, as well. Lastly, we are happy to confirm that mods on the Steam version will NOT be affected!
