微軟 XBOX Live 服務近期發生大規模伺服器故障，導致全球數以萬計的玩家無法連線或驗證數位權限，更意外觸發重大系統漏洞，讓部分使用者得以免費下載並遊玩未曾購買的遊戲，甚至包含早已下架多年的經典作品。
根據多家媒體與社群反映，約在台灣時間 26 日- 27 日期間，XBOX 伺服器出現連線異常，眾多玩家僅遭遇無法登入帳號、數位內容授權驗證失敗等災情，部分玩家甚至回報，即便是放入實體光碟，主機亦無法順利啟動遊戲。

後續恢復連線後，出現更神奇的 Bug，疑似是整個資料庫驗證沒有恢復驗證，玩家發現有些遊戲可以在沒有付款的情況下，直接下載開玩，影響範圍包含近期推出的《LEGO 蝙蝠俠》、《007 初露鋒芒》。
不僅如此，伺服器遊戲的資料庫管理機制似乎也失靈，讓原本已經從 XBOX 商城下架的老遊戲意外重新上架，如《惡靈勢力》、《King Kong》、《Marvel Ultimate Alliance》、《沉默之丘：驟雨》等均可以被搜尋，也能進行下載。

微軟團隊已經緊急把這些問題進行修復，但傳聞有群組還在嘗試尋找那些遊戲尚可利用漏洞。然而這些「白嫖」行為很可能已經違反帳戶合約，微軟接下來極高機率會進行檔案回溯，情節重大者甚至可能面臨帳號封鎖與註銷的可能，不建議玩家繼續冒險嘗試。
至於為何發生此狀況，微軟技術長 Scott Van Vliet 回應，主要是系統授權服務出現異常，未來將強化伺服器的多點支援，避免單一異常拖垮整套服務。
